Beardworks

Beardworks (털보네공업사, “the bearded one’s workshop”) is a one-person IT development company, a sole proprietorship from South Korea. We build software — and, among other things, small, cute games. Our source code is public.

Who makes it

Beardworks is run by one person: a full-stack developer who has been building software since 2010.

• Mobile apps and SDKs (iOS, Android), web front ends and back-end servers
• LLM and AI services since 2023 — RAG search, agents, data and ML pipelines
• Sets up build-and-release automation (CI/CD) for apps, SDKs, web and servers end to end
• Has built and led apps and services for home appliances, energy, retail and the public sector; holds one patent (a beacon-based service system)

Naïl: Under the Roots

A top-down action roguelite about Naïl, a baby mole who follows the roots of a withering great tree deep underground. Fight with parries and rhythm, free the neighbors bound by threads, and bring them home to the village. Available in eleven languages.

Dialogue portraits, illustrations and sprites were made from originals generated with a Google Gemini image model, then converted to pixel art and touched up.
